Fun with Paints and Shabby Chic

It is so easy to take most anything and paint it and give it a completely different look. Bringing in whites, pinks, light colors will change an everyday piece into something feminine and special like this cross and necklace which I have turned from everyday to femininely beautiful shabby chic. 

This cross was a dark, dark green, so dark green it looked too near black. It had gold flecks and colored paint in the center. I painted it and added a strip of torn fabric and orgaza for a hanger and I just love it.

With the kitty next to it, I did same, it had a red heart and I painted it pink. It is probably vintage, I picked it up at a thrift store for a quarter. Hit your jewelry box, the local thrift store or yard sales to see what treasures you can find and turn them into loving, keepsake pieces.

Omgosh now that I've realized if I don't like something,  I can paint it, I'm like what can I paint?!!?
