Easter Junk Journal

Until recently I had never planned an Easter journal but after joining The Graphics Fairy Premium Membership, I just couldn't help myself. I just want to say up front, that if you are serious about your junk journals or would like to take them to the next level, there is likely no better step that you could take than to join their membership. I am not receiving any promotional dividends in any way for saying this, I just love their resources. I had been using and following them for years. I hem-hawed around quite a while on joining, but I did, and it was the best thing I ever did for my projects.

This is my Easter journal. I had intended to just make a small, cute journal for myself with a few cut-outs and cute blank pages to jot some favorite verses down but once I got started, I could not stop. It won't even close so I have it tied with organza ribbon which adds a lovely effect anyway.

The bundle I mostly used from The Graphics Fairy was the Easter Song bundle. I did snatch a few extras from their general collection and from another bundle or two, but most all were from the Easter Song. I used some as they were and others I made into compositions including the front cover.

This bundle included plenty of cut-outs and I used most all of them. There were small cards, tabs, tags and music notes. There was so much with which to work.

I also added some other elements like tiny file folders and Victorian women in Easter bonnets. Plus of course as always, I add my own unique items like a small pack of my Victorian Yesteryear Potpourri, prayer cards, little stash envelopes, flowers, lace, ribbons, buttons and so much more like a pop-out heart and vintage seed packs (also from The Graphics Fairy, one of their garden bundles).

The rabbit cut-outs I made from a rabbit graphic in their general graphics. I printed him out and cut it out. Then I printed a flipped version of the graphic and cut it out so that when I put the two together there was a front and back that fit. Before I glued them, I added an extra long toothpick in between the two pieces. After gluing, I added a ribbon to his neck. He is adorable and could be added to a floral arrangement or to an Easter cake.

I made page pockets in the center and added a silk Easter lily (pictured up above). The front and back cover page paper is some scrapbook paper that I had that I had purchased in a rose pack. It was perfect. I also added stickers and Easter seals to my pages, and a pad of matching stationary which I also handmade. My pages are all hand-aged to look old using tears, fancy scissors for edging and distressed ink.

All in all there are too many pages to show here but I do have a full gallery up at my Facebook page where the book pages may be viewed in their entirety.

This was one of the most enjoyable junk journals I have made yet, perhaps because I knew I was keeping it; it is the first of many I have made and kept. If you enjoyed this you may also browse the many other similar junk journals available in my shop.

Thanks for joining me on this tour of my Easter Song Junk Journal.
