Making Jewelry with Amethyst

Recently I cane into a stock of just un-earthed amethyst and it seemed logical to begin making some jewelry with it.

Using the wire twist-wrap method, I have anchored the stones into copper on one necklace and gold-colored wire on the others.

I have made chokers and necklaces mostly of hemp, some braided and some crocheted.

One necklace I made of copper wire. This was more expensive to make and required using crimp beads which can be difficult with which to work but it turned out lovely and makes a nice dress-piece.

Earrings are fun and easy. I love wearing my amethyst earrings more than any pair I have ever had. There is just something about the stone that is lovable, it is known as the love-stone after all.

It is fun and satisfying to make your own jewelry from beautiful gemstones though it does take some work.

If you're not up to making your own, check my Etsy shop for the beautiful pieces I have made. The amethyst is fresh from southwestern New Mexico and never before worn. It has been cleansed, cleared and blessed.
