Uses for Wrapped Christmas Boxes

Christmas tip: If you wonder what to do with all those Amazon boxes piling up, I like to take the boxes, cut off the top flaps, then wrap them in Christmas paper. There are so many uses for them.

  • 1. They make a great way to serve treats, like a mini candy station with fudge, cookies, candies, etc. Hot tea or chocolate station.
  • 2. If you don't have any presents under the tree at first, you can just flip them upside down to fill in the space.

  • 3. They are great for organizing. I have one for my wrapping supplies like gift tags, tape, scissors, ribbons, etc. That way I know where everything is, I can move it from room to room and if it's out, it still looks attractive rather than a mess.
  • 4. I use another to put those small gifts in that tend to get lost under the tree. I usually send to different households and I can't have small things getting lost then forget to put them in the box to be shipped.
  • 5. This year I suspect we will be delivering gifts rather than gathering so I will put gifts going to specific households in each box to deliver. It looks nice and keeps everything together.
  • 6. They are also great for creating gift baskets if you don't have a basket, add small gifts, fruits, etc.
  • 7. After Christmas unwrapping, if each family has one, their small gifts can go in it and is easy for them to just carry it all home.
  • 8. They also make cute themed displays for Christmas decorations or mini Christmas scenes.

If you try it, the heavy-duty paper is better, stronger, more tear-resistant. Use clear packing tape for durability. If you don't like to wrap, don't try it lol but it's fun if you do. They can be thrown out after Christmas or if you want them to last or want to serve food in them, cover them completely in strips of clear packing tape and they will last for years.

They can also be wiped down if you serve in them (shallow ones like a tray. The first one I did, I did in vintage 1960s wrapping paper so it would be special. I still use it every year.

You can decorate them if you want. I decorated one today that will be on my Christmas table. Lined the top with inexpensive pretty snowy white garland and added a bow. The possibilities are endless and you can match your decor. Also a good way to use up leftover or last year's wrapping paper.

They can also be done in fabric or with the self-adhesive shelf paper, I have done both and those will last for years. Can also make just great storage bins that way.
